The Connaught Patisserie
LONDON

Discreetly housed within The Connaught Hotel, the Connaught Patisserie showcases picture-perfect creations from Nicolas Rouzaud, one of Europe’s most renowned Master Pâtissiers. The delicate interior by Ab Rogers Design, nods to the intricacy of a chocolate box through a dusty pink colour palette, plush furnishings and pistachio-inspired marble tabletops.

Design Concept

Our lighting scheme takes its cue from the artful precision of the design narrative, embracing a ‘less is more’ approach. A subtly balanced composition of light elevates the soft interior, producing layers of accent and task illumination to elevate the ambience and emphasise the hand-crafted patisserie creations.

Key Lighting Solutions

Bespoke pendants

Handblown crystal glass pendants form soft halos of warmth above the tables and display counters. Each lamp has a high colour rendering index and high output to produce a sparkling effect while directing light downwards onto the surfaces below.

Precision track lighting

Track systems fitted with miniature bronze spotlights define the display counter and provide essential task lighting for the patisserie staff. One layer directs light downwards through the displays to highlight the texture of the delicacies. A second layer directs light to the back bar, illuminating the area where staff are working and additional croissants and cakes are displayed.

Integrated display details

The main focal point of the scheme is a refrigerated cake display, complete with concealed linear LED fittings. Designed to accentuate the craftsmanship of the patisserie, the LED strips highlight the cakes and labels at the front and gently wash the back of the cabinet with light to create a silhouette effect behind each product.
