Revolver
DUBAI

Inspired by open-fire grill Indian cuisine, Revolver is an imaginative dining concept from Michelin-starred Chef Jitin Joshi. Underpinned by a sense of a theatre, the restaurant’s charcoal grill, brazier and tandoor cuisine takes centre stage, putting the chefs at the centre of the action to heighten the multidimensional experience.

Design Concept

Brilliantly envisaged by Y Design, Revolver takes maximalist dining to a whole new level, through a heady mix of hammered copper, sepia leather, gunmetal grey and plush pomegranate velvet. As every detail is designed to captivate, our lighting scheme had an important role to play in drawing out the materiality and ramping up the unashamedly moody and edgy vibe.

Key Lighting Solutions

Space-enhancing details

In the main dining space, a bullet-inspired lighting installation commands attention. Indirect lines of ambient and accent light were concealed within the architecture, keeping the visual aesthetic clean to give the dramatic feature room to breathe.

Curated darkness

Throughout the entire restaurant, we played with light and shadow to add contrast and visual interest. Everything is tempered; light is offset by dark to make pockets of intimacy and seclusion an integral part of the spatial narrative.

Illuminated glamour

The private dining room features a sexy palette of gold and crimson, so this space was illuminated with deliberate restraint. Recessed downlights rhythmically accentuate the table area and bounce light onto the surface of the decorative gold feature wall to add depth and shimmer to the space.

Halos of warmth

Outside on the terrace, a softer lighting language prevails to honour the drama of the cityscape. Embedded downlights in the soffit form a gentle layer of ambient illumination above. Concealed accents of light in the plants and beneath the seating add further warmth and intimacy.
