Situated within the architectural icon of The Opus by Dame Zaha Hadid in Business Bay, Maison Dalí is a bold new concept from Culinary Arts Group, helmed by acclaimed three-Michelin-starred chef Tristin Farmer.
From the moment that guests cross the threshold, they enter a surrealist-inspired culinary experience that playfully nods to Salvador Dalí. Storytelling is central to this journey – the expressive design scheme is brimming with vibrant artworks, whimsical design details and a mood-enhancing lighting scheme designed to stir the senses.
As Dalí-inspired surrealism is at the heart of this concept, our lighting design helps to amplify the suspension of disbelief. Diffuse lines of light pull guests from one space to another, creating an irresistible sense of exploration and secluded nooks for people to pause, relax and unwind.
In the main dining area, theatrical design gestures heighten the playful aesthetic – a dreamlike feature ceiling and a multi-textured glass installation above the bar. Indirect lines of light embedded in vertical surfaces reveal the intricacy and grandeur of these details.
Layers of indirect illumination enrich each space, complementing the scheme’s bold colours, luxurious finishes and whimsical flourishes. We carefully choreographed the colour temperature and intensity of the light levels to accentuate the vivid red drapery, ornate ceilings and dark-toned walls.
Expressive artworks reinforce the surrealist design story. Each piece is illuminated with sleek picture lights that accent the artistry and add depth and dimension to the sensory experience.
