The workplace lighting scheme for OQ Trading’s new office in the DIFC district reinforces the elegant and engaging interiors by AAID, which are designed around the movement of energy in nature.
Our lighting solution responds to the narrative by using layers of light to bring a sense of flow, energy, and visual harmony to the workspace, while also enhancing natural materials and creating spaces suited to different needs – from productive work to relaxed communal engagement.
Sleek contours of light weave their way throughout the workspace, creating rhythm and guiding people through the office with a sense of energy.
Curved edges of a multilayered coffer are highlighted with a soft glow of light, turning the architectural ceiling into a striking, elegant focal point and creating a warm welcome.
Direct and indirect lighting create a comfortable working environment. Can-style light fixtures complement the exposed architecture, while suspended linear luminaires hover above workstations – providing functional illumination and minimising glare.
Lighting integrated into surfaces and architectural details produces a seamless finish, allowing the effect of light on materials to take priority. Luminaires were tested against different materials to achieve optimal results with each colourway and finish.
Elegant curves of light create a relaxing, social atmosphere. Minimalist downlights and recessed spotlights provide a backdrop of illumination and give decorative luminaires space to shine.
Diffuse lines of light paired with minimal downlights and recessed spotlights promote a comfortable and flattering layer of ambient light for collaborative meetings and video calls.
