A delicately balanced lighting scheme defines the ambience of 42 Midtown – a ‘restobar’ from Jumeirah located in Zabeel House The Greens. This vibrant establishment brings the essence of New York to Dubai, exuding relaxed glamour and framed by Art Deco interiors.
Our lighting philosophy seeks to reinforce the chic-meets-laid-back interiors through a blend of integrated and decorative illumination, enhancing the atmosphere and accentuating the material palette.
Integrated lighting within the textured glass of the counter front emits a warm, orange glow – adding depth and drama, drawing the eye to the open kitchen. Dark-toned decorative pendants above the counter blend in with the setting and add a layer of task lighting.
Strategically positioned track and adjustable spotlights create a layer of ambient light above tables and casual seating areas, while highlighting the textures and finishes of materials.
Decorative pendants produce a soft glow above booths, creating a sense of intimacy. At a lower level, diffuse lines of light integrated into seating add to the cosiness and emphasise the curved profile of the furnishings.
Integrated joinery lighting draws out the characteristics of the green tiled walls and metallic shelving lined with bottles. Sleek brass and stone pendants create an easy rhythm of light along the bar, encouraging guests to relax and linger.
