Dubai-based lighting design practice Studio N has launched a new office in London to bring its Simply Light proposition straight to the UK market.
A sister brand to global lighting design consultancy Nulty, Studio N launched in the UAE six years ago and has quickly carved out a name for itself for a hands-on, flexible approach to lighting design. The team has curated a unique service offer for interior, architecture and landscape schemes with smaller project fees, and works closely with clients to deliver impactful lighting solutions that are perfectly aligned with their budget and project timeline.
Expansion into London comes off the back of a steady stream of project work in the UK, primarily in the private residential and F&B sectors. The London studio will be headed up by Managing Partner Greg Lobina, who joins the team from John Cullen Lighting where he was responsible for growing project work and nurturing collaborative relationships within the interior designer and architect community. He brings over 25 years of experience to the business, having previously led business development for leading international brands such as DELTALIGHT, Artemide, and Philips.
Greg will be supported by Amy Weatherley, one of Nulty’s most talented lighting designers. A trained lighting designer and product designer with cross-sector experience, Amy has been an integral part of the London studio for the past five years and will draw upon this wealth of expertise to deliver inspirational lighting schemes for Studio N’s clients.
Paul Nulty, Founder, Studio N, comments; “Studio N has been shaking up the lighting industry in UAE with its agile and accessible approach to design, so we feel the time is right to bring this vision to the UK. We’ve stripped everything back to the essentials to give smaller projects, interior design studios and architecture practices exactly what they need – great lighting design and personal relationships. Simple.”
Greg Lobina, Managing Partner, comments; “I’m excited to join such a dynamic, forward-thinking lighting design consultancy, which has shown it can meet design expectations by blending aesthetic goals with technical precision. The new Studio N London team offers a deep understanding of light and lighting effects, so I’m looking forward to getting around the table with interior designers and architects to bring lots of exciting projects to life.”
