Our exquisite lighting scheme for Scalini Cucina, a dining destination in The Dubai Mall, was inspired by the charm of a relaxed Italian eatery. The lighting design perfectly complements the Mediterranean-inspired interiors by Bishop Design, rich in natural textures and vibrant colours.

Inside, the lighting transforms the space into a bright and breezy atmosphere. A backlit fabric ceiling emulates natural daylight, evoking the sunny ambiance of the Italian Riviera. Beneath it, a striking lemon tree becomes the centrepiece, highlighted by adjustable spotlights that bounce light onto the green and yellow tones of the leaves and fruit.

Throughout the restaurant, light has been layered to enhance the interiors. Recessed tracks and concealed wall grazers bring the Scalini-blue walls to life using a cool 4000K colour temperature, while a warmer 3000K glow creates an intimate and cozy feel within the seating areas. Integrated joinery lighting accents eclectic objects and shelving, bringing them into focus.

The final touches of the scheme include classic-style chandeliers and pendant lights, adding a hint of Italian sophistication to the relaxed, glamorous vibe. Scalini Cucina’s lighting design strikes the perfect balance between playful Mediterranean energy and refined elegance, making it a standout destination in Dubai’s dining scene.
