Featured Project: Boston Consultancy Group, Riyadh

Designed by award-winning interior design studio AAID, Boston Consulting Group’s destination workplace in Riyadh is a multifaceted space, designed with collaboration, wellbeing and comfort in mind.

From the moment that employee’s step into the reception area, the warm and elevating tone is set. A curved arc of light frames the scheme’s feature ceiling, enhancing the metallic finish and adding a shimmer of elegance. Concealed lines of light guide people through the space, accentuating the materials and handpicked decorative pieces, while marking out the welcoming seating zones and lift lobby.

The communal areas feature gentle curves and intricate design details. Flowing architectural lines create a sense of movement and are enhanced by soft cove lighting, integrated joinery illumination and domestic-style pendants, woven into the scheme to invite inhabitants to relax and enjoy the space.

The mood shifts in the open workspaces where bold, graphic lines of light animate a sculptured architectural ceiling, adding energy and intrigue. As the meeting rooms and conference spaces have been designed for comfort and efficiency, layers of light create the perfect combination of light levels. Cove lighting forms a backdrop of ambient illumination and diffuse linear lights, punchy downlights, and wall grazers ensure good facial recognition.

Across the private corners and hubs, the lighting is softer and subdued. Low-level illumination offers visual relief, while wall-mounted ring lights produce optimal lighting for calls and acoustic pendants minimize noise for a distraction-free environment.

The final lighting scheme has been carefully crafted to shape every moment of the workplace journey – setting the pace, enhancing the ambiance and softening the edges in places for those in need a moment of quiet pause.
